Cursive C
c is the shortest distance between two letters — one open curve that never climbs above the midline. A cursive c is a short letter, and it hands over to the next letter low.
This is the same renderer the generator uses. Open it with c already filled in to change size, rows and guides, then print.
How to write a cursive c
- Start just below the midline and curve left, down and around.
- Bring the curve back to the baseline, leaving the top of the letter open.
- Exit to the right along the baseline.
A c sits in the short zone. Capital C is the same shape, drawn from the top down, and sits between the baseline and the midline.
Joining c to the next letter
c exits low, so the letter after it does most of the joining. ca, co, ch.
Where it usually goes wrong
c climbs as tall as an l. It is a short letter and lives only between baseline and midline.
Words to practise after the letter
Once the single letter holds its shape, put it into short words where it appears once: cat, come, black. Type any of them into the generator above and it will lay out eight ruled rows of tracing for you.
